CPAR Joins the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty

May 2026 - CPAR is pleased to announce its official membership in the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, a global initiative launched by the G20 to accelerate progress toward ending hunger and poverty while reducing inequalities and advancing sustainable development.

The Alliance brings together governments, international organizations, development partners, financial institutions, civil society organizations, and knowledge partners to support country-led efforts to address the root causes of hunger and poverty through evidence-based policies, programs, and partnerships.

As a member of the Alliance, CPAR will contribute more than four decades of experience implementing integrated development programs in sub-Saharan Africa. Through its work in health, food security, nutrition, water and sanitation, gender equality, and climate resilience, CPAR has supported locally driven approaches that strengthen community resilience and help address the underlying drivers of poverty and vulnerability.

"Sustainable progress on global hunger and poverty relies heavily on a strong connection between international policy and local implementation capacity," said Kathrina Loeffler, Executive Director of CPAR. "Through the Global Alliance, CPAR is pleased to bring our operational experience in integrated development to help build resilient and self-reliant communities."

Through the Alliance, CPAR will participate in global knowledge-sharing and collaboration efforts, contributing practical implementation experience and lessons learned from community-based development programs. CPAR also looks forward to engaging with Alliance members to support country-led approaches that strengthen resilience, improve food security, and advance sustainable development outcomes.

Membership in the Alliance reflects CPAR's ongoing commitment to partnership, evidence-informed programming, and locally driven solutions that address the interconnected challenges of poverty, food insecurity, health, and inequality.
