Education
Education is closely linked to health, economic opportunity, and long-term community resilience. Yet across many rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, significant barriers continue to keep children out of school.
In countries where CPAR works, only about 3 in 10 children complete lower secondary education. Poverty, inadequate school infrastructure, limited sanitation facilities, and gender-related barriers continue to affect attendance and learning outcomes, particularly for girls.
CPAR works with schools and communities to create safer and more supportive learning environments. Our programs strengthen school infrastructure, improve access to water, sanitation and hygiene facilities, and support initiatives that help students remain engaged in their education. A key focus is supporting girls’ education through menstrual health and hygiene initiatives that reduce absenteeism and help students attend school with dignity and consistency.
CPAR also integrates education into broader community development efforts. School nutrition initiatives, environmental education, and student-led gardens help connect classroom learning with health, sustainability, and everyday life.
By investing in education, CPAR helps children build the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to shape their futures and contribute to their communities.
