Access to Obstetrical Care in Rural Areas of Ethiopia

Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) is very happy to announce, on this International Day of Rural Women, that CPAR, the Fund for Innovation and Transformation, Global Affairs Canada, the Inter-Council Network and Dr. Mendez from the University of Saskatchewan are partnering to build obstetrical ultrasound capacity in remote and low resource regions of Ethiopia.

This project will increase access to prenatal care for pregnant women and increase the warning time of obstetrical complications, and help decrease Ethiopia’s maternal mortality rate which is currently 412 deaths per 100,000 births, double the global average.

The project will impact over 12,700 women and girls living in rural areas. Show your support for the cause here!
