Your Day-by-Day Journey in Tanzania

Thursday, Feb 12: Arrival in Tanzania

 

Guests arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (most flights in the evening) and are warmly received before being transferred to Lake Duluti Lodge in Arusha, a peaceful location surrounded by volcanic lake, tropical forest, and coffee plantations.

Overnight: Lake Duluti Lodge.

Monday, Feb 16: Ngorongoro Crater

 

  • A scenic drive to Ngorongoro Highlands, through coffee plantations and verdant hills.

  • Guests settle into Acacia Farm Lodge with stunning views into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.

  • Afternoon free to relax and take in the peaceful scenery.

  • Overnight: Acacia Farm Lodge Karatu.

Friday, Feb 20: Serengeti - Full Day Safari

 

  • Another immersive day of wildlife viewing in varied Serengeti landscapes — from rocky kopjes to seasonal rivers.

  • Possible encounters include leopards, elephants, and cheetahs.

  • A picnic lunch on the savanna extends the safari experience.

  • Farewell celebration in the evening to honour the journey and shared experiences.

 

        Overnight: Kirimu Migration Camp.

Friday, Feb 13: Arusha

 

  • Morning: Visit CPAR’s Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies project.

  • Afternoon: Enjoy lunch with local beneficiaries and visit the Shanga Workshop, which empowers artisans with disabilities.

  • Evening: Fireside discussions on the impact of donor support followed by a welcome dinner featuring local community and conservation leaders.

 

Overnight: Lake Duluti Lodge.

Tuesday, Feb 17: Ngorongoro Crater Safari

 

  • A 6-hour game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife including lions, critically endangered black rhinos, elephants, and flamingos.

  • Picnic lunch in the crater before returning to the lodge.

        Overnight: Acacia Farm Lodge Karatu.

Saturday, Feb 21: Departure

 

  • Morning transfer to Seronera airstrip for a scheduled flight back to Arusha, offering one last aerial view of the Serengeti.

  • Upon arrival, guests are transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for their international departures.

Saturday, Feb 14: Arusha to Lake Manyara

 

  • Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, known for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and flamingos.

  • Another visit to CPAR's project site.

  • Sunset drinks and conservation talk to end the day.

 

Overnight: Moonbow Lodge Manyara.

Wednesday, Feb 18: Serengeti

 

  • Journey westward to the Serengeti, with a stop at the famous Olduvai Gorge, a key site in understanding human origins.

  • Enter the Serengeti, where the plains come alive with zebra, wildebeest, and gazelle

 

       Overnight: Kirimu Migration Camp.

Sunday, Feb 15: Exploring Lake Manyara

 

A full-day exploration of the park’s rich ecosystems, from groundwater forests with baboons and monkeys to open plains filled with giraffes and elephants. Spotting pink flamingos and monitor lizards is also on the agenda, alongside continued engagement with CPAR activities.

Overnight: Moonbow Lodge Manyara.

Thursday, Feb 19: The Great Migration

 

  • Optional early-morning balloon safari (additional cost).

  • Morning and afternoon game drives through the southern Serengeti, where the Great Migration is in full swing.

  • Frequent sightings of lions, cheetahs, and hyenas as predators follow the migration.

  • Evening relaxation and storytelling around the fire.

       Overnight: Kirimu Migration Camp.

Per Person (double occupancy): USD $5,985

*Travellers are eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt for up to USD $1,000.

Single Supplement: USD $1,395
