Title: Commemorating Victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 by Empowering Disadvantaged High School Students in Addis Ababa (or 'Project 302')

Ultimate Goal & Vision

Project 302 aims to bring lasting and positive change to over 25,000 adolescents in eleven Addis Ababa high schools. The program focuses on education, health, career and social development, and environmental change. This initiative honors the crash victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 and supports causes their families and friends hold dear, ensuring that their memories live on through impactful actions that benefit Ethiopia’s youth.

Why It Matters

The tragic loss of 157 lives on Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 deeply affected families and communities worldwide. In Ethiopia, many of the victims had ties to the country, and their loved ones have worked to channel their grief into creating a meaningful legacy. Project 302 provides high school students in Addis Ababa with essential support and opportunities for growth. The program addresses challenges like gender inequality, special needs, access to healthcare, and nutrition while empowering students to take charge of their futures.

Impact & Achievements (2023-2024)

  • 11 Schools in Addis Ababa actively participating.

  • 715 Students trained on life skills, career development, and social inclusion.

  • 110 Teachers and Principals trained in promoting gender equality, health, and career guidance.

  • 1,100 Pairs of Shoes provided to students in need.

  • 500 Girls received menstrual management materials to support their education and health.

  • 400 Students benefited from nutritional support.

  • 220 Students with special needs received medical support and assistance.

  • 20 Wheelchairs provided to students with mobility challenges.
