Livelihoods
Long-term health solutions only work when community members are employed and working in secure livelihoods. In those countries where CPAR works, household livelihoods are integrally linked with health outcomes – accessing adequate food, water, sanitation, education and medical care isn’t possible without an income. And livelihood gaps can result in a vicious cycle of expanding marginalization as families are forced to compromise their long-term interests for immediate survival, increasing the burden on public systems and limiting future options.
