Canadian Engagement
CPAR works in partnership with individuals and diverse organizations to overcome poverty and build healthy communities in Africa.
Our partnerships are not just about the work we do internationally, but the work we do in Canada as well. We engage Canadians through roundtables, volunteer experiences in the communities in which we work, and by educating the Canadian public about international development issues.
International volunteerism benefits communities in Africa by transferring volunteers’ skills, knowledge, time and energy to organizations and projects. At the same time, Canadian volunteers benefit through participation in development work abroad. Upon their return, volunteers participate in public engagement on the individual level or in a variety of campaigns, from small community events to CPAR’s own communication activities.
