Determinantes of Health : Building Secure Livelihoods
Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rate of extreme poverty in the world, with nearly 50 per cent of the population subsisting on under $1 a day.
To help improve the lives of those living in the region, CPAR provides business training to farmers and small business owners and helps smallholder farmers diversify their income sources. CPAR also helps establish and supports credit and savings cooperatives, which assist low-income households in gaining access to revolving loans for small businesses.
CPAR continually works to improve women’s access to education, training and ability to earn a livelihood by creating awareness programs that challenge gender inequality.
When you support CPAR’s Secure Livelihoods program, you increase the income of vulnerable households and help lift them out of poverty.
