Another Successful Kash Dash! Although early morning grey skies threatened to wash out the race, this year's Haliburton Kash Dash offered a sunny start with later showers to cool off the runners. Despite the uncertain weather, the event pulled in an excellent turn out of 118 adult runners for the 10-K race and 29 kids turned out for the 1-K run. Allie Paul of Haliburton won the girl’s 1-K run in a time of 4:35 and the boy’s 1-K run was won by Tarek Koudmani in a time of 4:50. In the women's division, the 10-K run was won by Lisa Avery of Orillia in a time of 38:10, making this her 4th straight Kash Dash victory. The men's 10-K division was won by 16-year old Dan Tripp of Belleville in a time of 35:08 This year, organizers estimate that the event will raise a total of $8,000 which is an increase in previous year’s fundraising efforts and will provide welcomed support to CPAR's projects in Africa! CPAR would like to say a big thank you to Steve Ferracuti, his family, all of the volunteers and the energetic runners who continue to make the Kash Dash a success each year.
