Tools for Action Goals
Tools for Action is inspired by the knowledge that each and every one of us can make a positive difference in this world and that small actions can have a big impact.
Tools for Action asks all of us: What will you do for the world today?
The answer can be anything you want it to be. Tools for Action offers many suggestions of things you can do in your school. Be creative. Think about all the things you and your fellow students have to offer!
BE AWARE   The first step towards becoming part of positive change is to be aware of what is happening elsewhere in the world. Learn about issues and help educate your school through advocacy and information campaigns.
CARE   Information is only the first step. We must also learn to care about the plight of people elsewhere in the world. Help your fellow students to identify with communities in developing countries by 'introducing' them to real people through photographs, real life stories and documentaries.
SHARE   We all have things that we can share with the world. Share what you know. Share your time by volunteering and/or organizing campaigns in your school. Share your money through fundraising activities. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it would make if everyone took the time to share a little of themselves!
The Tools for Action Network
Please share your ideas with the rest of the Tools for Action student community!
The ideas here are by no means exhaustive. We hope to continue adding ideas and activity kits based on your feedback.
If you have tried an activity or event in your school, please send us your feedback/comments to chwadhwani@cpar.ca. With your help we can make the toolkits even better!
Also, if you have a tried and tested activity/strategy that you would like to share with other students, send us the info and we'll turn it into a new toolkit (crediting you of course).
Finally, keep us posted about your activities. Feel free to send photos as well so that we can begin to create a record of Tools for Action online to inspire other students.
