If you had the opportunity to change lives in rural Africa by donating all or part of a day’s worth of your income to support African development projects would you take action today?
In 2005, CPAR started the World Health Day Challenge and asked physicians and medical professionals to donate a day of their income to Africa. Since then, hundreds of doctors and their supporters have answered the call.
Every year, on April 7th World Health Day, CPAR challenges Canadian physicians and medical professionals to donate all or part of a day’s income to Africa. Funds raised from this event go to support vital CPAR programs that help provide African community members with some of life’s most basic needs like clean water, adequate food, secure livelihoods, primary health care and a healthy environment.
The Donate a Day for Africa campaign gives doctors an easy and convenient way to show their support for global health. It can also be an effective team activity for an entire clinic or department.
By donating a day or part of a day’s income, they have helped us fund projects which have provided clean and safe water for school children and other community members in Tanzania and helped to fight malaria in rural Malawi by providing treated bed nets and education to prevent the disease and more.
You can make a difference in just one day!
