Tools for Action are free downloadable toolkits which provide students with all the information and "how to" advice needed to organize advocacy and fundraising campaigns in schools on a variety of global development issues.
Simply download the 'backgrounder' on an issue that interest you to learn more about the issue and some simple ideas for raising awareness in your school.
Tools for Action is inspired by the knowledge that each and every one of us can make a positive difference in this world and that small actions can have a big impact.
Tools for Action asks students: What will you do for the world today?
Tools for Action offers many suggestions of things you can do in your school to take action against poverty. Be creative. Think about all the things you and your fellow students have to offer!
Be AWARE - The first step towards becoming part of positive change is to be aware of what is happening elsewhere in the world. Learn about issues and help educate your school through advocacy and information campaigns.
CARE - Information is only the first step. We must also learn to care about the plight of people elsewhere in the world. Help your fellow students to identify with communities in developing countries by 'introducing' them to real people through photographs, real life stories and documentaries.
SHARE - Share what you have learned. Share your time by volunteering and/or organizing campaigns in your school. Share your money through fundraising activities. You'd be surprised how much of a difference it would make if everyone took the time to share a little of themselves!
