There was a time in my life that in order to support my family the only option that I had was to work for those households who were well off in the community.. I was employed on activities such as domestic work and on agricultural practices (weeding and harvesting); the daily payment/wedge had been too low and the usual amount was two birr per day; the income that I got could not cover to fulfill or purchase even very low quality food items, so that food shortage was exceptionally common phenomenon in my family.
When I met a staff person from CPAR, the situation in my life has started showing progress
“What I acquired from CPAR is not only inputs/seeds. It is - strength, energy. When I tried to evaluate my previous situation with that of current one, I can say that there is great change in my life. I got knowledge, resource, strength so that my life started showing prosperity.”
“At this point, I don’t have as such limitation of resource for my family’s daily expenses. I am capable to send my children to school, to feed my children year round. I can say that I currently do have sufficient skills, commitment and opportunities. I am highly motivated; I understand that the more I do the better my livelihood situation can be. This is the beginning; not the end.”
