Changing Lives in Africa

Katarina Mikaeli

“This has been the most beneficial project I have ever had…” - Katarina Mikaeli, Khusumay Village farmer & Farmer Field School member, referring to her dairy goats Katarina Mikaeli, a widow with four small children, is one of the dairy goat project beneficiaries. She has been able to provide milk for her children and sell the excess to get money for buying other food stuff and school supplies for her two children in primary school. She has been especially pleased to provide milk for her two youngest children because she learned from the training that dairy goat milk is more nutritious for children than cow milk. Katarina’s baby goat is approaching six months so she will be passing it on to another woman after first providing the woman with training on how to care for the dairy goat.
