At Work in Uganda

Uganda is a small, independent republic with a democratic government that lies between the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) and Kenya.

At the time of its independence from Britain in 1962, Uganda was a country with rapid agricultural growth, and a developing industrial sector. Uganda has undergone many political and social transformations. From 1986 - 2008, conflicts led by the rebel Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) ravaged the communities to the North and worsened the country’s socio-economic and political status.
